Guerillatron’s E3 2011 Nintendo Coverage
Welcome all to our live E3 coverage of up Nintendo's press conference. Sony really pulled no stops and delivered their A game. Now Nintendo has to go just as hard! With news that the uber powerful PSVita will retail as low as $249.99 3DS is treading on thin ice. Will they deliver the 3DS goods or will Cafe/Stream steal the show. Only time will tell. 12:14 EST Nintendo is releasing a Zelda game for every hardware system Nintendo Supports. Starts today with Link's Awakening for 3DS virtual Console! He's went into discussing OoT for 3DS. Hint movies will be included in game as will the Master Quest and boss challenge mode.

12:37EST Luigi's Mansion2!!!!!!!! It's looking good. Great news as it was one of Nintendo's test titles for 3D on gamecube. An entirely new game. Several new mansions!!!

Two analouge pads, L R buttons, 4 face buttons d pad, touch screen, mic, inward facing camera, gyro, acellerometer. Display is 6 inch. Not designed to be portable. Wiiu wirelessy transmits data. Controller is nothing without console. "A strong bond between games your TV and the internet"

12:56EST Back to Iwata. Smash brothers for both 3DS and Wiiu!!!!!!!! The team will finish Kid Icarrus before beging work on new title. Both titles will feature some interactivity.

Nintendo Gives Out Free Stuff…Again
Back in March Nintendo released the 3DS. They have since dropped the ball so to speak. The launch library has been played to death and 3rd parties merely offered quick cash ins, with the obligatory licensed titles and remakes. There was no e-shop. All my DSiWare downloads were trapped on my noticeably thinner DSi. Alas as posted in our previous article, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. There is a reason to smile.
Nintendo of America has announced the much needed 2nd firmware update for the 3DS. This bad boy gives you a web browser, the ability to transfer over most DSIware titles, and the heavily anticipated E shop. Most people, myself included can attest to the fact that web browsers on consoles and portables generally suck. The one thing that makes the 3DS browser stand out, is the fact that it is the first browser available en mass that has 3D support. WootenTM The few pages that have 3D images on them will now be viewable in 3D on the 3DS.
With the announcement comes news that 3DS owners will be getting not 1 but 2 free E Shop titles! The first title is the Excite Bike for NES remaster. It's got all the bells and whistles of the original. But it's in 3D. This is a limited time offer so 3D owners should download posthaste upon release. It will run till July 7th.
Lastly Nintendo will be releasing the 3D Pokedex. This will allow you to look at pokemon in a way never before imagined possible. In 3D the title will be available for an undisclosed time. Sounds like this one's gonna stay free. The title will support up to 3 spot passes per day to allow you to further fill the dex. Check back Monday for Guerillatron's impressions of the two titles, along with the massive Tsunami of awesomeness that will be our E3 coverage. The update will become globally available June 6th. The North American rollout will start in the evening hours PST.
Super Wii64 Coming Soon???!!!
That's right the big N is ready to step up it's game and attempt to reclaim the hardcore. Word on the street is Nintendo is going balls to the walls. We're talking a console that is as powerful if not more powerful than the 360 and PS3. Alright maybe less word on the street and more word from the developers. In other words it has been officially confirmed, by undisclosed devs. Code name: Cafe
Obviously most gamers familiar with the industry have seen the writing on the wall for some time. Check out our comprehensive list of upcoming Nintendo releases. That's right notice the 1st party support for the Wii is hardly there at all. We can all remember a similar scenario during the end of the GameCube days.
To clarify the developers have only gotten their hands on alpha builds of the next gen console. That means alot could change and things like aesthetics and specs are nowhere near what the final retail product will entail. Honestly I'm not too excited about the controller. It's essentially a touch screen separated by buttons. I know lots of people love their IOS games, but I need a real effin controller. Hopefully there will be a more traditional controller available to those of us that don't have the desire to play a game w/ a mini IPad stuffed between buttons.
Think about this. Mario Galaxy was a showcase of eyecandy. Even though the resolution didn't exceed 480P the textures, lighting and models were all top notch. Imagine the type of AAA 1st party titles we could get on a console more powerful than what our current gen entails. Supposedly the new console will resemble a modernized SNES. Estimate in price range from $350 to $400.
