SW: The Old Republic – Trooper Dossier
Merry Christmas!!! Look what the team at Bioware gave us on Christmas!
Always on the front lines of battle against the Empire, Troopers seize every tactical advantage at their disposal to defend the Republic. With combat experience and intense training, Troopers can specialize to increase their battlefield prowess. The Trooper’s Advanced Classes will allow you to customize your Trooper to match your desired playstyle: improve your Trooper’s defensive tactics and capabilities to become a nearly unstoppable Vanguard, or go all-out on offense and become a deadly Commando.
In addition, several other details about the Trooper class are now available:
- Meet one of the Trooper’s more irreverent companions, Tanno Vik, an ex-military demolitions expert who really loves his job.
- Humans aren’t the only species who step up to defend the Republic. The indomitable spirit of the Zabrak has lead many of these aliens into the ranks of the Republic’s finest. Learn more about this proud race on the Zabrak Inhabitants page.
- Troopers are given access to the high-powered Rendili Hyperworks BT-7 Thunderclap, a heavily-armored starship powerhouse upgraded with state-of-the-art tech requisitioned by Republic Special Forces.
- The Trooper’s dedication to the Republic and its ideals fuels a powerful drive for victory, even in the face of overwhelming odds. Watch the Trooper Class Video to see what drives a Trooper – and what they do to those who threaten the Republic.

ROBYN REVIEW
Robyn – Body Talk Part 1
Review by: Meeks
Ever have a day where you feel frustrated with everything? Robyn does. In her first song from her new “LP” she’s frustrated. She lets you know what is killing her and you can empathize with her. Wait, or is she empathizing with us? Some days we feel like everything is killing us slowly. On those worst days all the bad things pile up and even the good things get to us. When the track reaches the end after she describes just about everything that is making her, and us mad she changes the song on us. She says what we all want to say to a busy day at work, school or a full day with the spouse perhaps. “Don’t fucking tell me what to do!” Couldn’t have said it better myself. This track is just a hint at what I, and sadly not every knows Robyn for. Gone are the days of Show Me Love, “RNB’ish homogenized” music. (Which I loved back then by the way) She is now a very well crafted Electro-synth-lush pop sexy female artist now. In her previous self titled release Robyn we heard her at her best and unfortunately not many people heard that. Thanks goodness she picks up where she left off with Body Talk Pt 1. I say part 1 and “LP” because this is actually a three part release that will be released within the year. This album has 8 tracks so I say it is more of an EP than LP. All that aside it is 30 minutes of really good music which is better than most below average full length releases we’ve had thus far.
On her dance “ready for the club” track Dancing on My Own she is stalking an ex lover watching him dance and kiss another in a club. This must be some fetish of hers because this is not the first track in which she describes herself doing this (Be Mine! –Robyn (self titled)). Once again she is simply stating the obvious. Don’t we all want to purposely run into or peak in at an ex-lover’s life just to see if they are happy with the new replacement? She makes it happen with this simple yet powerful song. The productions she chooses, as usual, are well selected like the lyrics are done first then the music is arranged to compliment her words. I find myself repeating this track because you can feel her pain as she witnesses every kiss the ex gives the new lover. She is trying, in what becomes a drunken state, so hard to be noticed and he doesn’t even notice her!! Bastard.

Robyn continues on the album with a track that seems it was off of her last release called Cry When You Get Older. She explains about how to move on from a break up when you are young and leave the crying and sadness for later on in life. Even the most perfect love hurts in the end, she says. This song is very well done and catchy with a comfortable bridge that doesn’t lose me. The next two tracks Dancehall Queen and None of Dem have a great Reggae feel and keep me very interested in the album.
On what I consider to be the final track “Hang With Me” she gives me another reason to feel frustrated that a lot of people in the United States don’t know about her. This beautifully crafted song begins as a ballad then builds with strings and piano. Robyn had similar ballads on her last album and I am glad she gave me another one to enjoy. I love the fact that you can hear a hint of her Swedish/English accent which gives her a signature voice. In this song she explains to a friend, who obviously has lover potential, about the complexities of being friends and not lovers. “Hang with me, just don’t fall recklessly headlessly in love with me cuz it’s gonna be a heart break, blissfully painfully insanity if we agree you can hang with me”. You can hear her trying to convince herself and the other person that this is not a good idea and there is no chance that it will work as friends only.
At first I didn’t agree with the three part release of Body Talk over a year. Now as I hear these 8 songs repeatedly I eagerly await the next installment and happy that it’s only a few months away.
Modnation Racer Review

Modnation Racers Review
By: Apple
Do you remember the times when you grabbed your nearest n64 controller to play some mario kart can hope you got the red turtle shells? now how old where you? don’t you wish that mario kart grew up with you, i do!
But today that old feelings return with United Front Games all new ip called ‘MODNATION RACERS’. Now you trade in the red turtle shells for some AAM (air-to-air missiles) that are um…..connected to your ride! (pause)…………Freaking sweet i know!!!!
If mario kart is for kids then Modnation Racers is for their parents. this game might look like a kids game from the package but don’t judge this book by its cover. the racer play by play commentary will prove that to you with one always making fun of the other and even at one time letting the player know that one announcer may have liked certain things from behind. (open to your sick thoughts)
Modnation racer lets you start off getting to know the game in a very cool tutorial, you race around a track and get to see the offerings. as you move along from race to race diffrent challenages await you. When you do complete a challenge you also get some very cool items to use in Modding yourself, car, track or even getting a lottery of items from the store.
And Modding is the name of the game, you can mod everything in this game from yourself, cars, trucks, go carts, gear, tracks and even makes popcorn! well maybe not popcorn but it should. they give you plenty of options to make yourself look like how you want to look with many diffrent options for colors, skins and body parts you can add. modnation did not slack on gear either, you get hundreds of options to make yourself look like Mario, Luigi, iron man, spider man, batman, MR.T, Michael Jordan, endless!!!
Did i also mention that the game comes with a 4 player spit screen, just like the old days when your friends wanted to come over and see a turtle shell coming right up the butt!! even better now, its a missile!!!!!!
The Vehicles are some of the best and funniest things you can mod, you have everything from a Big block Chevy V8 to a beer Jug. yup i said beer jug! one of the funnest things i have seen is a guy in a Jason mask riding in a truck with a human heart as an engine. yup i said human heart, sure hope those arteries don’t clog. the tires and paint is also endless, you can make any car you dream up even a 1966 batmobile……um this was my ride Mod. (smiley face)

Endless is a key word and if you hop in this world you can see for yourself. The tracks are well built and also giving you the option to make your own tracks and load them up and share them with the Modnation community. you can share everything from your cars, gear and tracks and download other tracks from the community or cars or character creations.
Modnation Racers makes you feel like a kid again but with out having the kid parts from Mario kart. did i also mention you can punch another driver…even if its a girl!!!
The downside to Modnation Racers is the load times, it can take a minute or more to get in a racer, but as i write this i have read that a patch is coming soon to fix the load times. so in that case the downside is Modnation Racers did not come out 15 years ago.
Modnation Racers is out for the PS3 and PSP and will cost you $60. not a lot of games are worth $60 bucks these days but Modnation Racers earns your money.
I give Modnation Racers
8.9
